After months of discussions, Confederation Africaine de Natation (C.A.N.A) has decided to rebrand and adopt and new name, Africa Aquatics, to maintain alignment with World Aquatics, who themselves recently rebranded from FINA.

Speaking to Africa Aquatics Media, Dr. Sam Ramsamy, head of Africa Aquatics said "This is quite an historic moment as this is the first time in the 53 year history of the organisation that a rebranding and name change has taken place. Over and above maintaining alignment with World Aquatics and refreshing the brand, the name change also encapulates all aquatic disciplines, and we certainly hope that this name change, in addition to the numerous initiatives taken by the organisation throughout the continent, will assist in growing aquatic participation competitively and socially".

Africa Aquatics is the continental confederation responsible for regulating and governing aquatic participation throughout the continent, with 53 member countries aligned to the organisation.
