REGION 5 GAMES POSTPONED TO 2021

The African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games scheduled for Maseru, Lesotho from 4 to 13 December 2020 have been postponed by a year. The Games will now be held in December 2021 with the 2022 Games scheduled for Malawi remaining unchanged. The decision was reached during the Troika of AUSC Region 5 Ministers of sport virtual meeting held on Friday 31 July 2020. COVID-19 STATUS UPDATE IN MOZAMBIQUE

Aquatic activities are not permitted at this time in Mozambique. "The Mozambican Government announced a continuation of the Level-3 State of Emergency until July 29 . Waiting for a green light. The Mozambican Swimming Federation has already sent a communication to the State Secretary with safety standards and measures to restart the activities twice, but we don't have any feedback so far." COVID-19 STATUS UPDATE IN ANGOLA

Aquatic activities are not allowed to resume in Angola. As numbers of COVID-19 infections keep growing, they aspect to see the height of the curve by september. It is predicted that aquatic activity will be able to resume some time after the month of September. Concerning travel, inter-provincial travel within Angolan is not permitted at this time. Residents of Angola are also not allowed to travel out of the country and no foreign visitors are allowed to enter into Angola at this time. Read More
