NASFED Announces XX Africa Aquatics Swimming and Open Water Championships

4 December 2024 - The Namibia Aquatic Sports Federation (NASFED) is proud to announce its role as host of the XX Africa Aquatics Swimming and Open Water Swimming Championships, set to take place from December 4–8, 2024. This premier continental event will showcase top aquatic talent across Southern and Central Africa.

The following countries will be participating: - Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Event Details:

• Pool Swimming Competition: December 4–7, 2024, at the Olympia Swimming Pool, Windhoek.
• Open Water Swimming Competition: December 8, 2024, at Lake Oanob, Rehoboth District.

This year’s championships will bring together 380 athletes representing 13 Southern African countries and 2 Central African countries, alongside a dedicated support network comprising over 30 coaches and team managers, 70 officials, and 40 volunteers.

The Federation are thrilled to welcome athletes and teams from across the continent and to offer them the opportunity to compete at our world-class facilities in Windhoek and the serene setting of Lake Oanob.

The event will also be broadcasted live on various platforms and the Championships are expected to have a significant impact, promoting aquatic sports in Namibia and the whole Southern African Region.
