9 December 2024, Windhoek, Namibia – The 17 & Over age group at the Africa Aquatics Zone IV Swimming Championships 2024 saw seasoned athletes stepping up to deliver world-class performances, thrilling fans and breaking records.


Top Performances
 

Women 17 & Over:
 

  • Namibia’s Reza Westerduin captured gold in the 100m Backstroke, clocking 1:08.90 and dominating her age group.
     
  • Zambia’s Johanna K. Coates claimed gold in the 200m Breaststroke with a time of 2:54.68, adding to her team’s medal tally.
     

Men 17 & Over:
 

  • Eswatini’s Chadd Ning emerged as a star in the 50m Breaststroke, winning gold with a time of 30.76.
     
  • Mozambique’s Kaio d. Faftine narrowly missed the record in the 100m Backstroke but claimed gold with a strong finish at 1:01.74.
     

Most Races Won
 

  • Women: Namibia’s Reza Westerduin dominated the women’s field with victories in the 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle, and 100m Freestyle.
